This academy is more than a childcare center. It is a legacy. A promise. A continuation of a mother’s heart for children and a daughter’s commitment to carry that vision forward with excellence, purpose, and intention.

The Beginning: A Mother’s Dream

The foundation of Butler’s Early Literacy Academy was laid by our late mother, Sherry Butler — a woman whose passion for children, education, and community was evident in everything she did. She believed deeply that children deserved a safe space where they could be nurtured, encouraged, and given the tools to succeed from the very beginning of life.

Sherry Butler understood that early childhood is not just a phase — it is the foundation. She poured love into every child she encountered and believed that early literacy, structure, and compassion could change the trajectory of a child’s future.

Her dream was simple yet powerful:

The Legacy Continues

Though Sherry Butler is no longer physically with us, her vision did not end. It lives on through her daughter, Dr. Tireshia Galloway, who took on the responsibility of carrying her mother’s dream forward — not just in memory, but in action.

With a heart aligned to her mother’s purpose and a strong foundation in leadership and education, Dr. Galloway expanded the vision with intention. She understood that honoring her mother’s legacy meant building a center that upheld the same values of love, structure, and care — while also meeting the evolving needs of today’s families.

We proudly serve children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, providing high-quality, licensed childcare in an environment that reflects warmth, stability, and purpose.

As a licensed childcare center, we are committed to maintaining high standards of care and education. We accept ELC vouchers and private pay families, ensuring access to quality early learning for families in our community.
